- You are the rightful owner of the timepiece, or have explicit authorisation from the owner to arrange service.

Service Description
Wela Thong offers watch repair, servicing, and restoration for mechanical and quartz timepieces. Our principal service categories are:
- Refresh & Polish — Light cosmetic care with basic mechanical attention and timing regulation.
- Complete Overhaul — Full movement disassembly, cleaning, re-oiling, mainspring renewal where needed, and regulation across positions.
- Fine Restoration — A combined service addressing both the movement and the exterior finish of the timepiece to a high standard.
Services are carried out at our Bangkok workshop. We do not offer postal or courier collection at this time. Work is performed only on timepieces physically submitted to the Workshop.
Service availability is subject to technician capacity and the condition of the timepiece. We reserve the right to decline service on any timepiece we assess to be outside the scope of our capabilities, or where the risk of damage during service outweighs the likely benefit.
Client Responsibilities
To allow us to serve you well, we ask that you:
- Disclose any known damage, prior repairs, or modifications to the timepiece at intake.
- Provide accurate contact information so we may reach you during the service period.
- Respond to communications from the Workshop within a reasonable time — typically five working days — when decisions about scope or cost are needed.
- Collect your timepiece within 60 days of notification that work is complete. After this period, a storage charge may apply.
- Inform us if the timepiece has any sentimental or historical significance that should inform how we approach the work.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, design, and documentation — is the property of Wela Thong or its content suppliers and is protected under applicable Thai and international copyright law.
You are welcome to view and share links to this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or adapt any content without prior written permission from the Workshop.
Photographs or documentation we produce of your timepiece during service are used solely for internal records and quality control. We do not share client timepiece images publicly without consent.
Payment Terms
All prices are quoted and charged in Thai Baht (฿). Our current service pricing is:
These are base prices. Additional costs may arise where parts replacement, unusual complexity, or scope changes are identified during service. Any revision to an original estimate will be discussed with you before work proceeds.
Payment is due in full upon collection of the timepiece. We accept cash (Thai Baht) and major credit or debit cards. Bank transfer may be arranged upon request.
Timepieces cannot be collected until payment is settled in full. Where a client is unable to collect and pay within a reasonable period, the Workshop reserves the right to arrange secure storage and apply an associated daily charge.
Service-Specific Terms
7.1 Estimates and Scope
All estimates are provided in good faith following an initial assessment. If disassembly reveals conditions not visible at intake — such as corrosion, seized components, or prior amateur repairs — we will contact you to discuss revised scope and cost before continuing.
7.2 Timelines
Indicated turnaround times are approximate and based on typical conditions. Complex restorations, parts sourcing, or high workshop volume may extend these. We will keep you informed of any meaningful change to the expected completion date.
7.3 Parts and Components
Where original components require replacement, we use compatible period-appropriate parts where available. We discuss any significant component decisions with the client before proceeding, particularly for collectible or historically significant pieces.
7.4 Returned Parts
Worn or replaced components can be returned to you upon request at intake. Please inform us if you would like original parts retained.
Disclaimers
Watch repair and restoration involves inherent risk, particularly with aged, worn, or previously modified timepieces. While our technicians work with care and attention, we cannot foresee every condition that may be encountered.
We do not make any representation as to the resale value, collectibility, or market price of a timepiece following service. Our assessments relate to mechanical function and physical condition, not monetary valuation.
If you require a formal valuation, we recommend consulting a qualified horological appraiser separately from any service engagement.
Limitation of Liability
The Workshop's liability for any loss or damage arising from our services is limited to the direct cost of the service performed. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including any loss of use or financial loss associated with delayed return of a timepiece.
In the event of loss or damage directly attributable to the Workshop's negligence, our liability shall not exceed the documented replacement value of the timepiece or the cost of service, whichever is lower. We strongly encourage clients to have high-value timepieces independently insured.
Events beyond our reasonable control — including supply disruptions, utility failures, or force majeure — may delay service without giving rise to liability.
Indemnification
You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Wela Thong, its staff, and representatives from any claim, loss, or liability arising from your misrepresentation of ownership, your failure to disclose relevant prior work or damage, or your breach of any term set out in this Agreement.
Termination of Service
You may request the return of your timepiece at any stage before work is complete. A partial charge reflecting work already performed may apply.
The Workshop reserves the right to decline or discontinue service if a client behaves in a manner that is disrespectful or if information provided at intake is found to be materially inaccurate.
Terms regarding payment, liability limitation, and indemnification remain in effect regardless of service termination.
Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from our services will first be addressed through direct discussion. We ask that concerns be raised with us within 14 days of collecting the timepiece.
If a matter cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to seek mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings. The courts of Bangkok, Thailand shall have jurisdiction over any unresolved dispute.
For matters relating to consumer rights, clients may also contact the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) in Thailand.
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement. This document, together with any written service estimate, forms the complete agreement between the client and the Workshop regarding the service in question.
- Severability. If any part of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- Waiver. The Workshop's decision not to enforce a particular term on one occasion does not waive its right to do so in future.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under this Agreement without our written consent.
- Language. This Agreement is written in English. In the event of any inconsistency arising from translation, the English version takes precedence.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage clients to review this page periodically.
